06 Sep Magento 1.x Support
Today Magento announced their timeline for phasing out support for Magento 1.x, so if you have not yet upgraded to Magento 2, you may want to start seriously thinking about your upgrade plan.
- For Magento Commerce versions 1.13 and 1.14, they will be providing software quality and security support through June 2020 for merchants whose accounts remain in good standing.
- For Magento Commerce versions 1.9 to 1.12, they will be providing software security patches through June 2020 for merchants whose accounts remain in good standing.
- For Magento Open Source 1.5 to 1.9, they will be providing software security patches through June 2020.
Please note that in addition to upgrading your CMS, you may also need to upgrade any third-party extensions or customizations you have installed, as well as your PHP. You may view the end of support timeline for PHP here. Magento plans on releasing a series of patches that will support those PHP upgrades, as PHP 7.2 is the only version currently supported beyond the Magento 1 end of software support date of June 2020.
